2 Thank You Cards for Teacher Gift August 31, 2009

Sorry this is late but I only worked on these photos recently.

Here are 2 of the 6 cards that I made for Princess’s teacher’s birthday gift. Along with the box of handmade cards, I also gave her a book and a small tube of hand lotion.

tycard2 teacher gift  This card is made to look like a manila folder. I used my own template. I used a ivory colored cardstock. The patterned paper is actually a patterned vellum paper. Then I embellished it with a Mini Fresh Cuts Rustic Flower. Over the Fresh Cuts flower I added a self-adhesive glitter clear from Making Memories. (I used a piece of yellow cardstock behind the card just show it would show up better when I scanned it.) On the tab I added a piece of brown paper and the words “thank you” on a tea-stained patterned paper. I embellished that with a rhinestone flower. The font for the words “thank you” is called CK Beanstalk.

For this card I used  white cardstock. The patterned paper is a gray color with a floral design. (I don’t know the name of the design or the brand). Then I added a scrap piece of iridescent textured white cardstock over the middle of the card. On the computer I printed the words “Thank You” on a white cardstock and mounted that onto a piece of black cardstock. Then I adhered that to the white iridescent cardstock. The font I used is called Edwardian Script. I stamped the images above and below the words. The clear stamps were froma stamp set that I bought at Costco. It’s really hard to see but I also added a piece of vellum that has iridescent dots on top of the white iridescent cardstock. The edges of the vellum are cut with the “Antique” scissors from Creative Memories.

Both of the cards are blank on the inside.

Free Class on Photo Editing June 30, 2009

Check out this free class that I’ve signed up for! It’s a photo-editing class for Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Photoshop Elements. Although I already know how to use some of Photoshop Elements, it doesn’t hurt to learn more tips and tricks from the pros. This will surely help me with my homemade cards and digital scrapbooking.

Okay, I know the date says that the registration is over.  I wanted to share with you what great stuff is on Jessica Sprague’s website. Hey, you may still be able to register?

Here’s birthday card that I made for a little girl’s 1st birthday.

springtime1stbdayoutside2I used yellow cardstock for the card. The images are from Letting Delights Spring Bundle. It also includes the font used on the front of the card. It’s called “LD vanilla”. The green gingham ribbon is from American crafts. The drangonfly sticker is from Jolee’s Boutique and the white lines were created using a Sakura opaque gel writer. I can’t remember where I got the green sticker I used for the “grass”.

For the inside of the card, the flower image and frame also came from the Spring Bundle. The font is called “elastic wrath” downloaded from the internet, except for the number 1 which is “DJ Chunky” from DJ Inkers.

Free Fonts or Dingbats? March 6, 2008

Anyone out there  know of where I can find some cute free fonts and dingbats?

I did get some a while back from Two Peas in a Bucket. I don’t know if you can get them there anymore. I know that their website has changed. I also found some from a site called Moms Corner 4 Kids. Unfortunately, that site seems to have disappeared.

So…I’m on the search for some cute fonts or dingbats that are free of course. Anyone out there know of some good sites?

Baby Shower Card December 1, 2007

This weekend I’m attending a baby shower. Yes, it’s a girl baby. Did I mention that most everyone I know who is pregnant is having a girl? When Princess was born, most everyone else had boys. Funny!  So here’s a girl baby shower card that I made. It uses some patterned paper, ribbon, text stickers, and a baby carriage sticker. The inside says Baby = Bundle of Joy

Girl Shower Card

Diaper Thank You Cards November 25, 2007

So here’s the thank you card that I made for my baby shower. The diaper is made from textured cardstock. This cardstock has a butterfly design embossed into it. I made a diaper template and used a stamp to add a graphic on the diaper. Most diapers have pictures on them. Then I added some patterned paper for contrast. I used a flower punch with a rhinestone for the diaper tabs.

P.S. I updated the girl birthday card post with a new picture. I hope you can view it.
